Skin Struggles

I am most definitely not a beauty expert, up until recently I have been a quick cleanse, a dab of moisturiser and go kinda girl, but that has all had to change.

Two pregnancies and a big birthday later this year mean my skin has changed from its usual normal/combination easy to maintain self to dry, dehydrated and sensitive and not just on my face, my whole body is suffering.

My skin care routine needed changing and fast! So off I popped to my local department store and solicited some free samples from the beauty counters… well a girl has to try before she buys and my skin is so sensitive I didn’t want to invest in full size products to find they made the problem worse or gave me a flare up.

So what is my new routine:

I cleanse firstly with Garnier Micellar Water for dry & sensitive skin and follow by No7 Beautiful Skin Cleansing Lotion for normal/dry skin (I will probably swap this out for the Clarins cleanser at some point, but I had some of this that needed using first). This is then followed by Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum which is amazing in my opinion, it is expensive for a serum, but a little goes a long way and I actually got a great deal on Clarins own website in their boxing day sale, so it does pay to shop around before you buy. I have also added Clarins Blue Orchid face oil into my routine, I am currently using a sample size but I will be buying the full size when I run out, I mix a little drop with my moisturiser (Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Gel) and apply, its non-greasy and such a soothing product on dry sensitive skin.

A few weeks into my new routine, my skin is brighter, more radiant and less sensitive than it has been since the baby was born nine weeks ago and hopefully it continues to stay that way.
